Today is your Birthday

Posted by: admin  /  Category: For my children

I am your mother (and you know that), Im posting this letter up as a blog. You will in time learn what one is..

Dear Riley,

Today is your birthday. 7 years ago you were born. The weather wasnt this cold out side although it was a little chilly, I dont remember because I was in so much pain, just wanted to get to the hospital and get you out..

You are old enough and responsible enough to understand what I went through this day 7 years ago. and It was on a thursday just like today…

6:30 am I woke up and my water broke. (thats what you lived in for 8months, funny huh?) Grandma and I couldnt find PaPa he was out doing his usual garagesale finding the deal thing. Grandma RAN down the street to a neighbor asking for help. We get in her car and start to head to the hospital around 8am. Upon leaving the neighborhood we pass PaPa and flag him down. He rushed me, more scared and upset than I was, to the hospital. The nurses took care of me. Gave me meds so I wasnt in so much pain and around 1pm they said to push. You were born at 1:35pm. 6lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. You had NO hair. But I loved you anyways. You were my little girl. I was scared. I was 17 and had no clue how to take care of a baby. That night in the hospital I was alone. I had to change your diaper all by my self. You made a BIG mess. If it was on video tape it would make one great comedy scene. Im in pain still because the meds have worn off by this time. I didnt have enough baby wipes, you had poo’d all over your clothes the bed, ME… and I was so affraid to call the nurse to help…

We finally made it home with you… and here 7 years later.. You have blossomed into a beautiful young lady..

I love you Riley
